What is Family Worship?

Family Worship is an opportunity for parents to worship with their Kindergarten-5th grade age children. These Sundays usually fall on 5th Sundays, Holiday Weekends, or Special Events. We do not want you to dread Family Worship or even not come because it is Family Worship. Family Worship is important for who we are as a church. Parents and Grandparents are called to lead their families to Find and Follow Jesus and worshiping together is a great start.

Here is What You Should Know about Family Worship

They Are Strategic

We want our Hallmark Kids to know they have a place in the bigger community of Hallmark. Family Worship ensures that they have the opportunity to experience the body of Christ, learn what Biblical preaching sounds like, contribute to the offering, hear testimonies of God's transforming work, and worship together.

They Are "Kid-Friendly"

Of course, the service may still be geared toward adults, but your kid is welcome to be a kid! They will not always use an "inside voice" and they might wiggle or laugh a little louder than everyone else, but that's okay. We want them to be who they are. They can rest on a parent's shoulder or lap, they can even stand on a pew to worship. We want to see and hear our kids. We also have Children's Worship Bulletins to go along with our Pastor's message.

They Are A Catalyst

If your child asks a faith question, feel free to have the conversation. Sometimes it's not so much what your child learns, but how you model what it looks like to grow in your faith. Share with them how Christ is speaking to you.

We know Family Worship may offer some unique challenges, but we also believe you can do this!

Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is ole, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

MEASURE UP: A 5-WEEK SERIES FROM THE GOSPELS ON JESUS' EARLY LIFE & MINISTRY

SERIES OVERVIEW:

“When I’m older!” “When I’m taller!” Every kid is excited to grow up — even if it’s just to finally ride that big kid roller coaster they’ve had their eye on. This five-week series is about another kid who grew up — Jesus! Through stories from Jesus’ early life and ministry, kids will learn five important truths to help them continue growing: God guides us to safety, we can love God with our actions, we can follow Jesus, God makes us ready at the right time, and God's words help us make wise choices.

Scaffolding is an essential piece of any large construction project. Within an intentional structure that supports the work and the workers for a while, and then can be easily removed when it's time for the building to stand on its own — the project could never be completed. CHECK OUT this amazing book for some ideas as to how parenting may have more in common with scaffolding than you think.
