WHAT WE'RE TEACHING: MDWK
UNAFRAID: A 4-Week Series from the Old Testament on Trusting God CHECK OUT THIS MONTH'S STUDENT DEVOTIONAL [PHYSICAL] CHECK OUT THIS MONTH'S STUDENT DEVOTIONAL [DIGITAL] DOWNLOAD THIS MONTH’S PARENT DEVOTIONAL SERIES OVERVIEW:
An amusement park ride can spark joy or leave you feeling more than a bit scared. There are twists, turns, and sometimes, a little bit of pain, too. Those things are true in life, too, so how can we learn to overcome our feelings of fear whenever we experience them? In this 4-week series from the Old Testament, we'll look at stories where people trusted God to help them through their difficult moments. From these stories, we'll see that God can turn fear into courage, hurt into hope, turn wrongs into rights, and transform our worry into trust. |
TIP OF THE MONTHYou never had to teach your kids to ask questions, they’ve always been good at it. Curiosity is a natural, human reaction to a complex world and it has played a crucial role in all of the greatest inventions, discoveries, and conversations throughout history. But for most of us, maintaining our sense of curiosity into and beyond our teenage years takes work. We want answers to our questions and we want to be certain we are “right.” But what joy and discovery might we be missing out on when we’re hesitant to ask questions? Even more importantly, if we remain curious, we can inspire a new generation to think critically and become better neighbors. So how can we practice being more curious? Asking Questions Make Us Better

RESOURCE OF THE MONTHOften, it's our own thinking that gets in the way of making the changes we want to make and hinders us even before we start. If this sounds like you, you must check out Get Out of Your Head, by Jennie Allen. Give it a read, and let's talk about it! It might lead to some great conversations about changes we can make in our ministry, too! Get Out of Your Head
