Promotion_Sunday-Date.jpgAs the end of the school year approaches, we wanted to let you know about Promotion Sunday. Promotion Sunday is when your child is promoted to their next grade level.

This year, Promotion Sunday will take place on Sunday, June 6th. On this day, please bring your child to their new classroom for the grade that they will be attending in the Fall.  For some, this may be a new classroom, for others it might not.

In the past, we've waited until the end of Summer to promote. However, after evaluating both Kids and Student ministries we decided it would be best to make some tweaks. The beginning of the school year is full of changes for you and your family, so we want to help minimize the amount of change happening all at once.

As kids begin their new stage in life, we as a church want to be proactive and help them during this transition. By moving Promotion Sunday to the beginning of the summer, our goal is that your kids will have a community with both friends and our leaders here at Hallmark as they go into the new school year.

I am so excited that we will be able to have VBS this year! VBS is for those kids/students who will entering Kinder -8th grade, in the fall of 2021!  Register your child/student today!

What We are learning on wednesdays

More than ever, our kids are engaged in spiritual battle these days, whether they realize it or not. Their faith is attacked–not by obvious opposition–but by subtle questions and moral ambiguity, that can cause kids to doubt and become less outspoken about Jesus. In this way, it has become an increasingly difficult era to share the Gospel. . . all the more reason why we, and our kids, need to be thoroughly equipped to “GO!” Through this series, kids will see that even though they are young, God gave us a mission, to share God’s story through words and actions. In order to do this with power and conviction, God gives us the Holy Spirit, and moreover, God gives us everything we need. When I face obstacles, God will protect my heart and mind, and when it seems like there is nothing I can do, kids will realize I can help others when I pray.

Parent Tip of the month

We are exploring The Great Commission this month, about Jesus’ mission to us to “go and make disciples.” Duplicate yourselves. Go and make more of you. Take a moment to think about what it means to make disciples in your home! Keep in mind these three things regarding discipleship: 1) it’s about living, not just learning, 2) it happens in community, and 3) it’s a process.
